Daedalus Park is a development of 65 units, totalling 135,000 ft2 of new freehold light industrial space within The Solent Enterprise Zone. It has good access to road, air and rail links. You can even launch a boat.
The Solent Enterprise Zone at Daedalus, located between Portsmouth and Southampton, is an area recognised as a leading location for advanced manufacturing and engineering businesses.
The Solent has a local workforce with strong and advanced skills in engineering and manufacturing. Those responsible for The Enterprise Zone are working to ensure ongoing development within the marine, aerospace and aviation sectors.
The skills plan commissioned by Solent LEP (Local Enterprise Partnership) plays a big part in this mission. It has identified the actions which need to be taken to ensure local businesses and individuals are armed with the skills they need, both now and in the future.
The strength and technical knowledge of the local workforce will get a huge boost with the new Centre of Excellence for Engineering, Manufacturing and Advanced Skills Training – CEMAST which opened in September 2014.
The Innovation Centre will help to nurture a new generation of workers, skilled in the kind of industries that will be on the site, and develop those already working in local businesses. In addition, Fareham Borough Council is investing in the creation of a new Innovation Centre which will provide tailored new space for start-ups wishing to move to the Enterprise Zone.
Phase 1 was completed in Spring 2017 and provided 31 units across 7 buildings. 24 businesses have already moved in, with more to follow.
Phase 2 will be available from late 2018, with more to follow later in the year.
